Tea: Excellent.  Food: Excellent. Service: Excellent.  Appearance: Excellent.
Comments:
I have visited Victorian Lady many times and always had a wonderful time with the persons I went with. We always try to take people that have never been so as to see their expression. What fun. we live about an hour away but well worth the travel time.

Visited: November, 2007.  Meal: Private adults' party. Type of tea: Loose leaf. Served: In a teapot.
Tea: Excellent.  Food: Poor. Service: Good.  Appearance: Good.
Comments:
I had an unfortunate experience with my "Red Hat" group. The price was way overe priced for the food provided; if you want to call it food. The pumpkin soup was depressing and the sandwiches left much to be desired. The pastries were soggy and the only redeeming quality was the tea. A manditory tip of 18% left a very bad taste in my mounth and I would never recommend this establishment to anyone.
Would you go back? Sorry, no.

What a wonderful experience. Kay and her husband (owners) go above and beyond to make tea a most enjoyable experience. The food and tea were wonderful and the ambiance is magical.

I've visited this establishment twice and have found both visits exceptional. The Afternoon Tea is very good and the menu varies based on season. There is an extensive tea list and the staff is knowledgeable and helpful. The Tea Room sports a fine array of hats and boas for patrons to try on and wear during their visit. The setting is a pleasant victorian house that has been well maintained and provides a pleasant setting for afternoon tea. Afternoon Tea requires advance reservations and if you call after hours and leave a message they will promptly return your call. A most pleasant tea room experience!

Boardwalk Plaza Hotel, Rehoboth, DE

Visited: June, 2007.  Reviewed: July, 2007.
Meal: Afternoon tea. Type of tea: Loose leaf. Served: In a teapot.
Tea: Good.  Food: Fair. Service: Excellent.  Appearance: Excellent.
Comments:
I have enjoyed high [sic] tea at The Boardwalk Plaza hotel several times each year for the past 4 years and I am sad to say that the quality and appearance of their tea sandwiches has diminished  significantly in 2007. My visits this year have been in Jan. and March with most recent visit in June and all 3 times the bread was stale and the crusts not entirely trimmed ... even the sweets were not up to the standard they set when they started their tea service. I have shared this feedback with their restaurant manager but with no noted change (so far). I am going back next week and hope for some improvements because the setting is serene!

As we sat in a Victorian setting on the boardwalk and facing the ocean while wearing our red hats and accessories we dined on lovely tea sandwiches, a variety of teas and mini pastries for dessert.

Hotel du Pont, Wilmington, DE

Visited: August, 2008. Meal: Afternoon tea. Type of tea: Loose leaf. Served: In a teapot.
Tea: Excellent.  Food: Excellent. Service: Excellent.  Appearance: Excellent.
Comments:
We so enjoyed our high [sic] afternoon tea which is served on Saturday and Sunday with seatings at 3:00, 3:30  and 4:00. The savories inlcuded 5 sandwiches (watercress, cucumber, egg salad, chicken salad and toasted bread with salmon/cream cheese). It was the best egg slad I have ever had. The next course was a piping hot currant scone with a nother hot schone/fruitbread. We loved the fruit bread/scone whcih was 50% like a scone and 50% like a fruitcake. Very unusal. The presentation of the desert course was truly remarkable. There were stawberry mouse on top of a fruit tart, madelines, homemmade chocolate mouse layered with homemade chocolate, conlies dipped in chocholate like standing trumpets and the best almond cookies I have ever had! Our server, Emily, was very knowledgeable and courteous.
